This summer we aren’t going to let the kids and teens have all the fun!
Summer Reading for Adults: Libraryland Game
Jealous that your child gets a sticker for reading? Reminiscing about the days when you could come to the library and participate in a reading challenge? We have an answer for you: introducing Libraryland, an adult summer reading program that allows you to play along with your family and friends. The squares include reading as well as non-reading challenges related to library materials and events, such as attending Plaza Jazz or taking part in Tiny Art. You can pick up a game board at the information wall between the Reference and Circulation Desks. Play for a chance to win prizes such as waterproof stickers, a gift card to a local restaurant or business, and Beebe Library merchandise.
The rules are simple:
- Complete the activity indicated in a square, get the square stamped at the Reference Desk, and choose a sticker. Squares do not need to be completed in order.
- When you complete a row of squares on the board, you’ll earn the number of raffle tickets indicated at the end of the row.
- The raffle for three prizes will be drawn on August 15th at the end of Summer at the Library.
Raffle prizes are:
- A Cravings gift card plus your choice of Beebe blanket or tote,
- Molly’s Bookstore gift card plus your choice of Beebe blanket or tote,
- Life Love Cheese Gift Card, plus your choice of Beebe blanket or tote.
*Patrons are only eligible to win one gift card/merch prize.
We really want you to come hang out with us at Beebe this summer, and we’re especially excited about Music Bingo, a new program perfect for fun-loving music fans. Each round will be themed with genres like pop, rock, and disco, and dancing in your seat is strongly encouraged! Winners will get to select from an assortment of music stickers as prizes. Refreshments will be provided.
Beebe Walk & Talk at Breakheart Reservation
For those in need of some forest bathing, join us for a walk with fellow library patrons and a chance to chat about one of these nature books.
Too hot to go outside? Want to test out a new game in air-conditioned comfort? Join us at our monthly Board Game Club and make some gamer friends in the community.
Beebe Library is delighted to announce the return of our much-loved Plaza Jazz series. Concerts begin July 9 and continue every Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM through September 3, on the plaza in front of the library. Come and immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere of music and community. Bring along your comfy chair, pack a picnic dinner, and enjoy an evening at the library.
