Most items circulate for three weeks. Select popular materials circulate for one week. Newspapers and reference materials never circulate.

Beebe Library does not charge fines for any of its overdue materials. Patrons must pay the replacement cost of lost or damaged materials. Replacement costs vary.  Because of our cooperative obligations to other libraries, you may be denied borrowing privileges at the Beebe Library if you have fines or overdue materials elsewhere. Credit and debit card payments for fines and lost books are accepted by the libraries of NOBLE through online library accounts only. Credit cards are not accepted at library service desks.

You may renew items in person, by telephone, by email, or online. Most materials may be renewed twice unless there is a hold placed by another patron. Autorenewals will be applied to all eligible items. Autorenewal uses an automated process to identify and renew items that are eligible for renewal.

Materials can be returned to the Circulation Desk or the four book drops located at the Avon Street entrance.

Lost cards may be replaced for a $1 fee with valid identification.   Keep your card with you at all times by adding it to your smartphone. Install the app of your choice (our network's app, NOBLE Libraries, Key Ring, Stocard, and Cardstar are just a few) and follow the instructions for adding a new card.  When you’re ready to check out, open the app and select your library card to display your barcode.  Our barcode scanners at the Circulation Desk and the Self-Checkout station will read the barcode on your phone the same way they read your physical library card.

Always Carry Your Card with the NOBLE app.
We ask that you have your library card with you for all library transactions. An easy way to do this is to download the NOBLE App from Google Play (for Android) or the App Store (for iPhone) and add your card number to the app. This will also allow you to view your account, browse the catalog, and place holds. Questions or problems with the app? Ask a librarian!
