CLOSED MONDAY, AUGUST 24 – THURSDAY, AUGUST 27 FOR HVAC UPGRADES

Beebe Library is excited to announce that long-awaited improvements to our HVAC system will begin on Monday, August 24. These improvements include a new chiller and the replacement of two rooftop units. All equipment has seen more than 25 years of active use.

To complete the installation, the building will be closed from August 24 – 27, 2026. Staff will be unavailable during this time. The outside drop boxes will remain open, however due dates have been extended so no books will be overdue while we are closed (remember: we don’t charge late fees anyway!). 

We invite you to use your Wakefield library card in Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Lynnfield, or at any other NOBLE network library during this time to check out new books (they can be returned to Wakefield when we reopen) or get help from a librarian.
